Hoiday Inn, Ipswich - Orwell

The Ipswich Railway Station is located near to the town centre and provides services to Cambridge, London Liverpool Street, Norwich, Peterborough, Lowestoft and Felixstowe. Currently there are no lifts at the station so people unable to use the stairs provided must ask for assistance to be escorted over the tracks to platforms 3 and 4. There are plans for lifts to be installed at the station in the near future. Cycle storage facilities are also available on all trains and stations but a limited cycle capacity may be in use. There can be problems however on the East Suffolk Line where cyclists can be refused entry on the grounds of safety.
The nearest airports are Stansted Airport in Essex or Norwich Airport, both approximately 47 miles away (76km).

The town bus services mainly operate from the Tower Ramparts bus station and regional services from the Ipswich Old Cattle Market bus station which can offer services to Diss, Norwich, Aldburgh, Felixstowe, Colchester, Stowmarket and Sudbury. The bus services are provided by Ipswich Buses (for timetables see
www.ipswichbuses.co.uk), Network Colchester, Carters Coach Services and Far Eastern Counties.

Airlink Coaches can also provide a service to Stansted Airport which run every 2 hours, 24 hours a day and National Express provides coaches for those longer journeys (the 481 to London and 350 to Cambridge, Peterborough, Leicester and eventually Liverpool).
